The ¡Present! Conference is a queer college conference for Latinx/Chicanx/Indigenous/PoC, with a focus on people who self-identify with the Latin/South/Central American diaspora or Brown or Indigenous. People of all genders and sexualities are welcome to apply to attend Saturday's events. Friday's opening is free and open to all.
The Call for Workshops/Presentations is now open, with online submissions due by November 15, 2017. The online Application/Registration will open October 15, 2017 for those wishing to attend Saturday's events.
In 2017, UCR hosted the inaugural ¡Presente! Conference, with 33 campuses represented. Cultural backgrounds included Afro-Indigenous, Brazilian, Brown, Central American, Chicana, Chicano, Chicanx, Chilean, Columbian, Dominican, Ecuadorian, Guatemalan, Hispanic, Honduran, Indigenous, Latina, Latino, Latinx, Mayan, Mestiza, Mescalero Apache, Mexica-Chihimeca, Mexican American, Mexicana, Mixed, Mixtec, Multi-Ethnic, Native, Nicaraguan, Oaxaquena, Panamanian, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Purhepecha descendant, Raza, Salvadoran, Salvadoreña, Tejanx, Tejano, Xinanx, and many other identities.
The California Endowment, the UCR Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, and the Highlander Empowerment Referendum help make the 2nd ¡Presente! Conference possible.
